NEWS:
03/10...one of the coolest things Jas and I have done
together, stemming from a bit of online jamming, a nice jazzy
track emerged. Its a bit loose and up front but Jas was the perfect
vocalist for this style, great job girl. Toward

dreary day for a stroll but a much needed

02/10...this song got started and then abruptly ended after a hard
drive meltdown. After getting things back up
and running I thought the idea was worth recreating. I'm glad I did
because Jas gave an inspired vocal performance on
it, I think she really hit her mark and made this a rockin track.

01/10...a new year brings a new song with jasmine, this one is kind of
special to us, we were inspired together
when we made this. A melodic acoustic style thats one of my favorites,
its called Like a

12/09...keeping with my thoughts of looking back at life, I wanted to
perform live to an instrumental track
and capture the recording on video. I also wanted
to show
a few pics of people and places that I
I like to remember. The video is posted
at youtube
here
. The track is called Reflections.mp3
11/09...was just sitting around taking in life when a simple little
song came to me, somewhat different music but it
had
to come out. I guess I was feelin fine, lol, because thats what I named

11/09...a kind of experimental jam piece I wrote that originally had
the drums programmed by a friend. I
was never really happy with the drums so I did them
over
playing live to capture more of the feel I
was after. Lee Velasquez is still there on bass
guitar
with me on synth and lead guitar. I'm experimenting
with a sound on my electric, a sort of distorted
filterscape. I think its much cooler now the SneaK.mp3
9/09...another one day quick jam with wim wever, kind of a melodic
lighthearted thing one day

9/09...a bit of a rough live jam here with jasmine, a nice folksy thing
I thought. Of course I always love jasmine's
vocals.
The quality isn't the best but I think we captured
something together too good to hide. She played
rhythm
acoustic along with the vocal, I'm just supporting
her with an acoustic lead, a tiny synth and a very
hidden
percussion track...enjoy. dream

9/09...fall
has kicked off wonderfully, great weather and some great jammin. This
is a collab with smokin guitar player
Larry
O'Meara from Montreal. I jammed out the bed instruments,
got a vibe happening and basically let Larry
do his
thing, great lead Larry thanks. Toxic

7/09...not really around much during the summer but since I
was here for a week I entered a song contest. The rules
were
simple, write a 3 minute song for the theme
of "who
are you". I thought this track was an interesting play
on the theme. I
called it mysteryman, a kind of
progressive rock thing with some guitar and a ton of synth and
vocal effects.
Hey I did pretty good, won some
software
and had some fun. I've since finished the track into a
full
song, check it.. MysteryMan.mp3

3/09...hard to believe but this is my first online canadian collab
which features some cool grooves and glitch breaks from
polyslax. I added my usual science trip
with some
synth and guitar lines. Not overly refined as I only spent 1 night
in
production but sometimes first impressions are the most
inspired. Divertimental

3/09...something acoustic this time out with my vocal partner Jasmine,
she inspired me to not only write this song but to sing with her.

3/09...I remember the SQ8L synth from way back, full of monster
basses and lead sounds. After grabbing the software version
it had
to be used for a funky vibe with full on riffing.

12/08...I haven't done a pure synth track in ages but after hearing the
new
DreamMachine synth, I was inspired to do one. Thanks to Inge
from
Serious Music Radio for letting me use a few snippets of her expressive
voice for this. Its retro sounding but thats okay, I've always
been
a big fan of older style synth work. Loosely based on my idea of radio
transmissions breaking the silence of space.

12/08...hey Bob, you'll want to pass by soon, the drums are in the
house, I'm having a beer and checking the Yamaha
kit.
11/08...finished a little ambient ballad type song and had the pleasure
of having Jasmine Tea do a vocal track for me. Shes got a great
voice and I'm really
excited about working with her again in the future. My instrumentation
is quite basic but I thought she gave
the track life with her sultry voice and lyrics. ...thanks Jas.

10/08...its time to get back to work in the studio again, the
summer here was mostly cool and rainy, kind of a downer but there was
still
some
good fishing and hiking
going on. A couple pics while hiking along the Crowe River.
05/08...well
thats it, finally time to travel north for the summer again. Brutal
winter here so everyone is looking forward to this. I did get one
more track finished, kind of a strange fusion
glitch
movement. Stu from Newcastle was into adding his bass talents to the
thing and I
think it turned out pretty cool and different., I

on keys, guitars and vox, Stu from England on bass,
myself on drums and
lead synths. Started on a Friday from a blank page and 48hrs later had
a cool vibe for me to mix.
